Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Startup Empire Tycoon handles information when you use the iOS game or this website.

Who we are
Startup Empire Tycoon is operated by Ron Kantor. For privacy questions or requests, email hi@ronka.dev.
Information in the game
Your saved company, game progress, run history, and local purchase balance are stored on your device. If you use an account, eligible purchase balances can also sync through our server. The game uses the following services:
- PostHog analytics: We send screens viewed, game actions, and run statistics such as week, cash, revenue, valuation, and stage. Events include a persistent app-generated identifier and basic device and app information. If you enter a CEO name, it may be attached to that analytics identifier.
- RevenueCat purchases: RevenueCat receives an app-generated customer identifier and purchase transaction information to deliver, reconcile, and restore in-app purchases. We also pass the PostHog identifier to RevenueCat to connect purchase and gameplay analytics. Apple handles payment details; we do not receive your card number.
- Optional Sign in with Apple: If you choose to sign in, we receive an Apple-provided user identifier and use it to keep your purchased-week balance and related transaction records on our server so it can sync across devices. The app does not request your name or email from Apple for this feature. You can delete this account in the app under Settings.
- Expo Application Services: The app contacts Expo to check for and deliver software updates.
Optional community leaderboard
Joining the leaderboard is optional and requires an account. While publishing is on, the app automatically sends updates for your current and later runs. Each update contains your company name, game week, stage, status (running, bankrupt, acquired, or IPO), founder stake, valuation, founder ownership percentage, a random ID for the run, and an update number. We use the valuation and ownership percentage to check a running company's founder stake; they are not shown on the public board. The server links the run to your account so you can update or remove it.
The public leaderboard shows the company name, week, stage, status, founder stake, and when the run was last updated or ended. Its public API also includes the random run ID so the app can identify your row. Your CEO name, Apple identifier, email, account ID, valuation, and ownership percentage are not shown publicly. The board may include fictional companies, disclosed in the text around the rankings. Anyone can view or copy public entries while they are visible.
The app can ask the server where your current founder stake would rank without publishing a run. That request sends the stake, and sends the run ID only if you joined the leaderboard. We use this to display the rank in the game.
How we use information
We use this information to run the game, understand how it is played, improve its reliability, and deliver or restore purchases. We do not sell personal information or use third-party advertising networks in the app.
Website data
This website does not ask visitors to create an account. It displays fictional companies and, when community publishing is enabled, runs that players chose to make public. The website does not set analytics or advertising cookies. Standard request information, such as your IP address and browser details, may be processed by the website hosting provider to serve pages and maintain security. If you email us, we use your message and contact details to reply.
Sharing and storage
PostHog, RevenueCat, Expo, our account database provider, Apple, and the website hosting provider process information for the purposes described above. Their systems may be located outside your country. We share only the information needed for those services to work and ask service providers to protect it.
Your choices and deletion
You can play without signing in or joining the leaderboard. In Settings, you can turn off leaderboard publishing; the app stops sending new runs and requests removal of runs it published when it can connect to the server. Deleting your account removes the leaderboard runs linked to that account. If a public entry remains visible or you want help removing it, contact support and include the company name or run ID. Copies made by others while an entry was public may remain outside our control.
You can turn off notifications in your device settings. Deleting the app or resetting it removes local game data, subject to your device backups; it does not by itself delete a server account or a published leaderboard entry. If you signed in, use Settings → Delete account to remove the account and its synced balance. For requests about analytics or purchase-related data, contact hi@ronka.dev; include enough information for us to locate the relevant record. Some transaction information may need to be kept for legal or fraud-prevention reasons.
Children and changes
The game is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy when the game or its services change. The effective date above will show the latest revision.
